How can I explain this.....Hmmmmm. Well, we met on the net. That, in itself
is not all that different. I/we meet someone new everytime we log into Yahoo.
We fell in love, online. Not so much in Yahoo, it was a big part of it, our
interactions anyway. No, we fell in love using ICQ, and on the phone too.
The phone better have helped, considering our collective phone bills!!
That, is the puzzlement for a lot of people. Me included, for
a long time. "How can you fall in love with someone you've never met in 3-d?"
I knew I had, just didn't exactly know how. We logged appr. 70 hours a week,
online together...talking. No movies, bars, or partying... talking, learning
what is inside each of us. Each day we are together online, we learn more
and more about what makes us tick. We still log around 40 hours a week depending
on our work schedules. The 3 days at Indy, and the 9 days here in my apartment,
only magnified what we already had. Those 12 days allowed us the chance to
experience physically what we knew about each other emotionally and
intellectually.
Anyway, I digress. Those of you that know us online and maybe have met
us IRL at our various chatmeets, know that we're in love. The following is
a brief synopsis of Sang's visit here. It was a lot of fun to have the chance
to introduce her to a lot of the chatters I've had the pleasure of meeting..to
show her off, if you will. I'm very proud of my ladylove and just want to
share her and my joy with as many as possible. Most importantly tho, was
my joy in being able to once again, hold her in my arms, and love her! Ain't
no feeling like that, anywhere in the world!!
Sang told me way back in August, that she would be coming here to visit
this Christmas. I thought, "Great!", not even dreaming that on Tues., Dec.
23rd, I would actually be motoring down I-94 to The Detroit Metro Airport
to pick her up. My head full of the things I wanted to show her, do with
and for her and places I wanted to take her. Kind of funny. You'd think 9
days would be a lot of time. Not if you're working regular shifts over that
9 days! My drive down to Detroit was rather uneventful until I spent 45 minutes
trying to find a parking spot in "the most convenient short-term parking
lot", that according to the Airport Radio Service. BULL!! My rad overheated
waiting for a space to open up!

to the airport. Not by a longshot!!
The first couple of days here shall go unreported. Frankly, it's not
for public knowledge, LOL!! Other than a trip out for our special Christmas
groceries, and a stop at my workplace so some regulars and staff could meet
her, we stuck around the apt. My boss was waaaaaaay cool in making my schedule
convenient for us.
Christmas day was PHENOMENAL! Absolutely the best Christmas Morning
in my memory. We didn't exchange a lot of presents. I gave Sang some enlargements
of pics from Indy and some Caesar's Woman perfume that our great friend Sodafizz1
picked up for me during the Vegas Chatmeet in Nov. She gave me a beautiful
scarf...yup! comes in handy up here! She also presented me with a couple
of little toys from her girls. Now my alter-ego WiddoBwudda, will have a
Dozer and Twuck to take with him during his Yahoo visits. I worked a shift
on that night and came home to candles burning, and Sanguiness in my apt.
Heaven!
On the Boxing Day night, (That's the "day after Christmas Holiday" to
those of you that don't know of it....a British thingy!), Brneyestoo came
over for a venison dinner. Sang being a bowhuntress, did the cooking honors.
BOY...can she cook!! When I arrived home from work, I walked in to
find Sang entertaining not only Brneyestoo, but also another lovely lady.
I wandered around, changed, wondered around too. Who is this!!!
I'm thinking, okay, another sister of Brneyestoo's. Nooooo. Puzzled, I wander
off to the store to pick something up. As I'm walking back, I literally stopped
dead in my tracks, and smacked my head. As I entered my apt. I walked up
and said, "So, I take it that this is Dreammin!" D'uhhhhhh!!! I had invited
Dreammin to come by as soon as I heard she would be in London for Christmas.
I thought she was visiting her brother there. Turns out, she was just escaping
for a couple of days. Quiet time. It was really great to meet her. I know
Sang and Eyes had a nice time. Besides, she brought us yet another box of
chocolates. Actually it was a box of Turtles. Way cool!!
After dinner and a few more hours of visiting, Eyes headed home to prepare
for the get-together taking place in London the next night.

This meet had to be experienced to be truly and totally understood.
Let's just say that it was one of my more memorable evenings spent in a bar.
As a musician for 20 years, you know that I've spent more than a few!! LOL!
Things slowed down for us after a couple of very enjoyably busy days.
I went to work, and Sang ventured into London to visit with Eyes a couple
of times. She'd pick me up after work and we'd get back to getting to know
each other better. On the Tuesday, I took her on a lightning tour of the area.
Introducing her to the statue of Jumbo the Elephant. Jumbo was killed here,
hit by a freight train while loading after a circus performance for Barnum
and Bailey. From there, I took her down to Lake Erie where I showed her the
village in which I spent the previous 8.5 years. Beautiful spot, clean, and
quiet. On to Aylmer, home of the Tuesday Farmers Market, open 7am till 5pm.
Except for the day we went. We got there about 3:30, only to find that almost
all of the vendors had packed up. I was NOT happy about that! But, Ce Le
Vie!
As the days of her visit passed, as did our time together. This only
brought us closer together. I guess some would say clinging, not wanting to
let go. We both had some moments in the last couple of days. Already missing
each other. We'd push those thoughts as far back as we could and carry on.
Once again, my boss was really cool and gave me New Year's Eve off.
After working that day shift, we stayed home, having a quiet dinner and watching
tv. Just spending time together, which was the whole purpose of her visit.
Bonding. We both were wishing that 1998 would never show up, or at least
would maybe take longer to arrive.
Jan.1, 1998 dawned, sunny and clear. Just like the day she arrived.
We'd had a green Christmas in Southern Ontario and I think we were both hoping
for a last second blizzard that would close the highway or the airport. No
such luck. After spending the morning making sure she had everything packed
that she was to take with her, we loaded up my trusty chariout and headed
down to Detroit. Like the Monday at Indy, a good portion of the drive was
spent in quiet apprehension, dreading what was to come. We tried to talk
positively about the future, our Easter meeting when I'll meet Sang's two
girls. Mouse is 12 and Widget is 17. I know I'm going to really enjoy getting
to know them better. Widget has a machine gun sense of humour and Mouse is
really deep, with an uncanny sense of humour that kind of sneaks up on you.
Both girls are honor students at their respective schools. Easter will be
very special as it will not only be my first IRL meeting with the girls,
but Apr.10 is also Mouse's birthday. She turns 13 and I think Sang will be
able to use a little support, LOL!!
We arrived at the airport, this time finding a parking spot quickly.
We walked very slowly, stopping at security so an officer could do a physical
search of Sang's carry-on. Her comment..."my, this is full isn't it?". Sang's
answer? "um YES!" Didn't matter how slow we walked, we got to the departure
gate with about 20 minutes left before boarding time. We had a gentleman
snap a pic of us, the last one of the visit and just after he did, Sang presented
me with a ring. The first piece of gold she ever bought for herself. Black
Hills gold. It gathers a lot of comments from people that see it. It's beautiful!
I cherish it very much.
There were tears shed....mostly by me as they called for her flight
to board. Nine days is a lot of time, but it was way too short. As she walked
up the ramp, we both uttered our phrase, :See you soon", knowing it wouldn't
exactly be the next week, but much sooner than either of us would have imagined
a scant 8 months before. I stood in the main corridor, beside the moving
sidewalk, looking out the window that opened to her plane and waited the
half hour till her plane finally taxied out and took off. I knew she'd be
in St. Louis, where her girls were staying, before I got back home.
The drive was a very quiet one for me, but not nearly as quiet as the
apartment was that greeted me upon my return. The apartment had returned to
just that. For 9 glorious days over Christmas and New Year's '97/'98, it
was home. Sanguiness was here. Really here, in my life and in my "home". It's
back to being just an apt. again, and home is in Kansas. At this writing,
in just under 5 months, I'll be home. I can't wait.
Our last moments in Detroit
I will leave you with these positive words.
The 3 days in Indy and 9 days here, were 12 of the best days I've ever spent in my life and in truth I've had a pretty good life. I call those 12 days, "Heaven on Earth"....the rest of our life together is going to be Heaven, Valhalla and Shangrila, allllll rolled into one!! I GUARANDAMNTEE IT!!!
