The Bubba Brothers Finally Meet!

In June of '98, Razenkoehn (now known as _Ferret) and her man, Blue_denim decided to make a roadtrip up to Kansas, then bebop around the midwest visiting friends and taking in the Harley-Davidson reunion in Milwaukee.  They'd originally planned on meeting M-t near Detroit, but upon hearing that original Indy camper Sirluvsalot had moved to Mich, we all decided to get together at his place, about 2 hours north of the Motor City.

I hadn't seen my Bubbette since Indy I, and this was going to be my first ever meeting with Blue.  Needless to say, I was geared up.  I hadn't seen Sir or his lady Nadine since before Christmas either.

THIS.....was going to be a blast!

I arrived in Lapeer Mich. by mid afternoon.  Blue and Ferret were waiting for me in the parking lot of the newly built Tim Hortons.   . o O (notice a theme here? LOL!).  After making our way inside, we all ordered a meal and talked about the visits that the three of us had had with Sang, but never the 4 of us together.  They gave me a "Cajun in your pocket" that pipes out cajun sayings and constantly gets a giggle whenever I play it for someone.  This despite the fact that I usually have to translate it to them. LOL!!!

.....funny, their license plate
says that too, LOL!

After eating, we made our way out of town to Sir and Nadine's place.   Sir gave us a tour of the property, which is set off the interstate and surrounded by natural landscaping of pine and oak trees, some of which have to be over 100 yrs. old.

We found out that before we could eat, we had to assemble Sir's new bar-be-que.  This was going to be an adventure because Sir's a salesman, I'm a bingo caller and Blue's a nuclear engineer.  LMAO!!  Blue ended up reading the directions while we put it together.  What's amazing is that we only had a few parts left over.  ROFL!

Blue and Nadine's youngest help Sir "fan the flames", sorta.  Yes, that's a bicycle pump.

Nadine came home from work and, after she got the rest of the dinner together, we headed inside for the eat.  Libations were rather reserved, but Nadine couldn't help but remind us of the Indy meet by having made some more jello shooters.

We actually did a test because no one believed that there were still traces of her jello shooters at the campground on the Monday.  While hot water makes those suckers shoot right down the drain, cold water had NO effect on them what-so-ever!  Findings?........rain won't melt jello shooters. LOL!  Point proven. LMAO!

After dinner, I presented Blue with his 'hat'.  There's a long story revolving around this. I won't go into details but let's just say it involves boxershorts.  Since that meet, Sang and I have taken great joy in sending Blue 'n' Ferret almost anything 'happy' we can find.  This includes coffee mugs, slippers, a tie and a few more things.  Sang and I are STILL waiting for that pic of Blue in the 'ensemble'. LOL!

Mr. Happy?     LOL!

After a great visit and some tunes from Sir, we called it a night. Blue n Ferret had been enduring long drives and were pretty road weary and I had a 2+ hour drive back to St. Thomas.

All in all, it was a great day, spent with great friends.  It'd be another year before Sang, Ferret, Blue and myself would finally be all in the same place at the same time.

...and that....is how it's done!  LOL!

MegaThanks to Nadine and Sir for hosting the event. Great Eats!!!!
